Commissioned in 1867, Baltimore's historic City Hall building is one of the few U.S. government structures done in the Second Empire style of the Napoleon III era. It lies in the heart of the city, across from the War Memorial Plaza. The building's rotunda is open to the public, and features tours of the chambers as well as displays chronicling the history of Baltimore.
