Founded in 1977, Baltimore's Museum of Industry preserves the city's notable industrial heritage via a bevy of exhibits ranging from food canning to broadcasting to garment-making. It occupies the historic Platt Oyster Cannery building in the city's Inner Harbor South region, just minutes from Harborplace. Other highlights at the Museum include the only operational steam tugboat on the east coast, an exhibit on America's first umbrella company, and an up-close look at the world's first disposable bottle cap.
